I came across an interesting looking opportunity for a Senior Communications Systems Engineer at MITRE.? The position is based in beautiful San Diego (my favorite city in the world).? They?re looking for someone to:

| Key Functions: | Provide communications systems engineering support across all phases of the system engineering process on programs such as the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS). Interact with users to develop and analyze operational mission requirements, allocate to system technical requirements, and specify satellite communications terminal performance and interfaces. Conduct system level and component level trade studies to determine sensitivity to parameters and advise on technology investments. Detailed modeling or simulation of the physical communications channel, modulation and demodulation techniques, and error correction coding and interleaving may be required. Contribute to the development of system architectures, terminal conceptual designs, and communication infrastructure roadmaps that will guide the development and acquisition of satellite, terminal, control, and network segments of future communications systems. Facilitate interaction and translate between requirements developers and the technical acquisition communities. |

| Desired Education/Experience: | MS in electrical engineering, mathematics, or physics with 5+ years experience in analysis, design, or development of digital communications systems or satellite communications systems.
